excellent trippin minimal / house longplay.... just fantastic

a made up sound aka 2562 and dexter deliver two remixes for arttu featuring jerry the cat. nuclear funk and get up off it get transformed from raw chicago influenced cuts into darker electro/techno hybrids by these two dutch techno wizzards. both known for their sharp productions that cross over between techno, electro and bass music they have a fresh take on the original versions. by the choice of remixers we didnt expect the standard house remixes, something more challenging would fit the spirit of the originals. this remix 12 inch might be is somewhat of a dark horse in the house orientated clone royal oak catalogue, but expectations are to there be messed up.

from gui borattos latest album iii comes >this is not the end<, an indie minded track that convincingly demonstrates guis impressive skill set when it comes to emotional narratives embedded in a distinctively monumental context. like his timeless >beautiful life< and last years album highlight >destination: education< (already remixed to perfection by terranova and tale of us), >this is not the end< features the beautiful vocals of luciana villanova, who seems to know exactly what makes gui tick - which doesnt come as a surprise, as they are married – and possesses this rarest of all gifts, an unique voice that seems to address each listener personally. in his own 2012 mix featured here, gui doesnt so much concentrate on the originals tearjerking qualities (which were already fully formed), but streamlines the arrangement for ease of use on the floor of your choice, making the track even more refined and addictive. those of you looking for a slighty more adventurous approach will find their satisfaction with michael mayers rework on the flipside, where the source materials hypnotic qualities are brought to the fore, resulting in a masterful slice of catchy prime time psychedelica. with both mixes turning out to be instant classics, we can definitely confirm that this is not the end.

lessismore 060 - freaksandfollowers remixed by gideon who is going back to his old skool roots! the freaksandfollowers album is by anticlub, a notorious collective from eindhoven, the southern capital of holland, who was inspired to push itself into a new direction.

i know u combines tribal rhythms, pounding bass, insistent synth stabs, some distressed dialogue and a insanely large crash in the most maniacal way imaginable for what has to be one of the most devastating and original tunes for a very long time. sparse and spacious but yet rhythmical and energetic, lxc manages the ultimate arrangement balancing act here. the intensity increases gradually as the track progresses, culminating in an all-out tribal war ! a modern day jungle masterpiece from one of the most under-estimated producers around. on the flip, senses finally unleashes a track that decimated the very first technicality all-nighter back in 2004. 8 years later and that power is still very much in evidence! everybody want go heaven. nobody want dead – taking influence from the 1990 film marked for death, senses builds a dense vibe here, thick with imminent danger. rolling drums soon give way to a energetic ride-heavy break and pounding sub-bass hits. drum rolls drop and mentasms screech before the storm begins to subside half way through. the respite is brief however and after a complete silence the track reassembles, beginning with some insane slow to fast mentasm pitching which continues as a dark, slick reece begins to build with mysterious atmospherics. the tension is cut by the return of the drums – rolling along at first, before the mentasms and subs hit hard again, signaling a percussive onslaught! jungle just got catapulted into 2012.

many prominent figures throughout history have proclaimed that you can get by with a little help from your friends now whilst this is a lovely romantic notion and does, we suppose have some (albeit very small) grounding in reality you need a bit more if you want to progress through life as opposed to simply jog in. zoo look are a good example of this, whilst sam, alex and craig have been friends for quite some time, forging their completely plutonic relationship through djing together, their latest release, number 11 on join the dots is forged from more than simply the burning fires of friendship, its born out of a love of all things deep as well as house music based. they may be mates but you can also get along very well if you have bags of talent too.

seahawks >invisible sunrise< album was a great closer for 2011 and featured in many of the choice end of year charts. to celebrate seahawks are releasing 2 remixes by 2 of their favourite musical magicians - dr dunk and gatto fritto.

the dirty dutch! anticlub a notorious collective from eindhoven, the southern capital of holland, was inspired to push itself into a new direction. the inspiration came from a painting by an old lady that drew the attention and gave the impulse to create the album freaks and followers. as the title suggests there are two kinds of people, people who take risks and people who do not. as anticlub used to be a risk-taker but slowly settled in an unwanted comfort zone, this created dissatisfaction and led to a creative standstill. seeing the painting everything became clear again. one should not stand still but keep moving and evolve oneself into new areas that one has not yet explored creatively. as lessismore is from the same dutch city, this state of mind also hit the lessismore label, which inevitable resulted in both parties joining forces to release this diverse album by a former underground techno crew called anticlub. as the lessismore label is known for its typically styled techno, lessismore was searching for a new impulse sound wise and visually, to ensure creative satisfaction in the years to come. with this album everything came together and the lessismore crew reunited to renew their input into the label, which was once founded to be a creative platform and an artistic journey and in retrospective clearly not a platform where one should repeat itself time after time. freaks and followers is an 8 track album with raw electronic based music combined with a variety of vocal work by different new anticlub members. the overall feel of the album is a dark punky attitude that reminds of the good old days of rave, which in the early nineties dominated the dutch club and party scene. this period can be defined as being careless and not taking credibility into account, trying new things, being blunt and just partying your hart out. being older this is a feeling that will never have to die, proved by the old lady whose painting was used as the art-work of the album release.

new label sunkissed records brings you the first in a series of fantastic compilation 12inchs featuring choice balearic moments from different artists with the spotlight focused this time on blues rockers fleetwood mac. kicking off the beach party is arthur bakers incredible extended dance version of the mac classic >big love< that became an staple at the early ibiza parties as did the next track >ricky<, a lost 7 inch b-side also caned on the white isle in the late 80s. finally on this side is the more up-tempo disco-tinged >keep on going< keeping the floor moving. kicking off the b-side is the mesmerisingly dreamy groover >hypnotised< a true balearic classic followed by two more sunkissed delights, the sublimely sensual >brown eyes<, and finally >world turning< a bluesy stormer with some amazing percussion that also found much favour in ibiza. an essential slab of vinyl and a must-have for that perfect sunset record box.

polluted017 is a tech house 4 track ep from joel enzo. the projects take inspiration from the artist move to berlin and the new choice of life in such a city. the solid beat programming and synth melodies makes all 4 tracks very catchy and for the dance floor. the tech house style of this artist it is pretty unique from influences such as booka shade and general get physical releases but mostly from the deep and dark german tech house. for this release there will be a 5th track for promotional purpose only and will be free to download on the artist soundcloud page from the date of release.

for the first release of 2012, old friends of lazy days, lawnchair generals make a rare appearance on the label with their new single >dont stop<. the duo made of peter christianson and carlos mendoza were featured separately on the feel ep last year. this song was written for their exclusive live performance at the decibel festival in seattle last year. this classic lcg tracks also comes with a superb dub for the late nights.
rob mello was an easy choice for the remix as we have been long time friends and fans of his. he took the track apart and gave us his unique no ears approach to the remix, a twisted deep afterhours biz. we hope you enjoy the release.

its been nearly four years since marc romboys last appearance on ovum, alongside tyree cooper on the mighty lost. today sees a return for the german as he teams up with another of the labels new breed, kink. bulgarian strahil velchev makes a return to ovum for the first time since his 2010 rachel ep shot him onto the scene. the success of that release and his array of productions since, have lead to kink becoming one of the most in demand producers of today. equally in demand is mr romboy, with 2011 being yet another year of success. his and stephan bodzins luna album kicked off the year in style and saw the pair embark on a huge global tour. singles and remixes for tronic, bedrock and 8bit have followed as well as productions with blake baxter and paris the black fu. marc has also surprised many, with his superb current house rework of terrence parker. the sampletastics vol. 1 ep sees the pair turn in three choice cuts of, as the name suggests, sample-lead house. a perfect selection of tools for the most discerning of djs. take your pick!

highly recommended! marieu comes back with an amazing solo e.p. on his own label enlightened wax after the worldwide success of his first work, heavily played by the most appreciated underground djs. as usual, this record has been written, mixed and produced only on dusty machines and recorded on juicy magnetic tape. the opening track, >ancient times< is a capturnig fat deep house track with a subtle female chant and space-station pads a2, >heat eninges< is build on an heavy ground shaking bass, a wagging latin piano riff. big claps, and sharp cymbals. funky and relentless, its just an essential choice for every swingin dj. on side b,>radiant< develops on a solid bass drum a filtered house groove making a breach to a charming jazzy piano and a blues voice. a complete feeding for every hungry dancefloor b2, >spectrum<begins with a dark hypnotizing groove enlightened in the middle of the track by an uplifting motorcity pad. striking and suggestive.

true soul brings together two london based producers in ues and alex magno. having released and remixed as individuals, the destination house ep brings the two friends together with a double-header of choice house cuts. you can feel the warmth flooding from barbados.elegantly deep, its simple bassline throbs like a musical heartbeat as the rasping hi-hat pierce the ever-present blanket of the single note synth. destination house comes outta the oldschool. warm bass, crisp percussion and smooth key stabs are matched with a persuasive vocal sample and some downtown traffic to create a fresh cut that tips its hat to the past. stepping up on the remix is young dutch talent tom ruijg, who sets about polishing his own version of destination house in some style. adding a little more muscle and holding the keys till the final third, tom rounds out the ep in style.

two marcel dettmann remixes of the morphosis track too far that was on the album what have we learned released earlier this year called. original also included. after newworldaquarium and just for one day already reworked some choice cuts from morphosis what have we learned album, there will be a second remix sampler released at the end this year. ostgut-frontman marcel dettmann delivers his dettmann definitions from too far and will join by the original cut from morphosis himself on release.

following the debut lp on ki, we have put together a few of our favorite artists to remix some tracks of their choice. it was important for us, that the artists kept their individual approach to their genre, so that we could get a very diverse release. first up is the japanese producer stereociti, who just released his debut album on mojuba records. he gives the title track >reisegefaehrte< his very own deep touch. second up is our close friend glitterbug, who seems to create a very own genre with his interpretation of >barracuda<. on the flipside stundman goes straight to the dancefloor. jacking beats and pounding basslines are his >reminder<. and as if p.laoss knew what the real deal is, he turned >subsistence< into a fata morgana trip back to the time when dub was really dub. perfect completion of what we expected from this remix ep.

it means >i hear, i see, i learn< in latin. its gonna be the second single, the one thats gonna accompany the release of the album. maybe not the easiest one but due to its peculiarity we all felt it was a natural choice. its runs at 152bpm, which is quite fast, but still delicate. its also the longest track on the album. an ideal conclusion for the album and for our future live shows.

once again, erol alkan and boys noize have teamed up, for what has become a stunning re-imagining of last years smash single >avalanche<. determined to avoid a taking an obvious route, the pair originally intended to commision a spoken word interpretation - the natural choice was the melifluous jarvis cocker. on the remix tip the duo enlist the maestro himself ewan pearson, who supplies the deeper underground re-version, that reroutes proceedings to dubbed out berlin basement afterhours to stunning effect. not to be out done, hot talent canblaster interprets the original as a low-slung bleeptastic old-school electro workout that rounds the package off in glorious style.

dance music legend chez damier dusts down this past murmur hit by commander in chief geddes and mic newman to produce two house versions. chez damiers alternative remix is already setting the dancefloor of the panorama bar ablaze due to solid support from the ever excellent cassy. with its rolling groove, shuffling percussion and tough drums it looks set to be a staple in many more djs boxes over the following months. chezs flute mix loosens up the percussion and injects a slightly deeper musical feeling and makes it a more than worthy alternative choice.

mos ferry release #57 is a vinyl re-release of two true classics from the label catalogue. dapayk & padbergs >island< is a special result of a collaboration with the american singer and producer caro. the original track came out in 2007 on their second album >black beauty<. but the choice for this record is the >swimming circles remix< by the parisian dj and producer duo noze (of circus company and get physical fame). originally released on the b side of >black beauty rmxs pt.2< the remix developed into a prominent long runner for the artists and the label. in 2005 >emergency< by dapayk & midnight marked the birth of mos ferrys first sublabel fenou. the 10inch record was released as a limited edition of 1.000 copies, each stamped by hand with a consecutive number. this first and only edition is out of stock for years now and if you are lucky you can buy a rare copy on discogs. reason enough to bring this track on a new mos ferry vinyl release.

rks allstars is the latest release from the roska family and is a choice collection of three tunes from three different producers all presented previously on the label

it has been in the pipeline for a while, but its finally here. the debut release from nijmegens underground house & techno collective eshu. they have been working and shaping their sound for over a year and gained quite the following on soundcloud for their relentless output. its deep, its slow, its really dirty and its to put your finger on.
two tracks will be released on wolfskuil ltd as a taster of whats to come. >naturally divine< is 14 minute electronic monstertrip with curious offbeat rhythms and detailed & mindblowing sounddesign. it builds tension without ever releasing into climax, making time fly by and 14 minutes seem way to short. >monrovia< on the flip is a nice contrast, but again this techno groover stands out through its unique choice of sounds, synths and layers.

dikso from berlin drop another amazing ep ! after five super sound singles here is diksos very first artist ep and of course it will be daniel solars job to do the kick-off. his retrospect ep features the most zippy stuff dikso has released so far without being an ordinary house record. the percussion is minimalistically filigree, the atmosphere is fluffy and aniyas voice on >can you really know< comes direct from outer space... er... down under. dikso006 a1 - summer, sunshine, a picnic basket full of delicious food and wine and someone to share a walk in the park. sounds cheesy? yes, you are right... but remember that every park has its dark corners. dikso006 a2 - daniel teamed up with aniya ouu, the grand lady of >melbourne deepcast<, a blog from a few down under brothers and sisters in spirit. intercontinental and interblogospheric, interdisciplinary and... for this release kurbits is happy to announce a new artist for the label – laurentiu suciu – aka. faster. laurentiu has been around on the romanian scene for a couple of years and has earned himself a large number of fans throughout the country. under the name faster, laurentiu has already released a couple of remixes and tracks on various digital labels such as the digital divisions of air drop records and cray1 labworks. whereas his previous releases has been more of straight up house affairs, this release sees laurentiu going for the more minimal and hypnotic shades of dance music. on the a-side we have omego, a track with instant hypnotic qualities. the rolling bass line and the atmospheric pads make the track a perfect choice for those in between moments when you are about to take your set from one direction to another. on the flip we have rost, a rhythmic skeleton based around a simple groove and a little hint of melody. the track might not have the ingredients of a chart buster, but we can assure you that it has all the ingredients of what we call a perfect tool. we sincerely hope youll have as much pleasure with these tracks as we are. well be back soon with new and exciting rhythms. happy mixing!
